E-Technologies Group – Automation Engineer Job Description

E-Technologies Group is looking to add Automation Engineers of all experience levels to work on site at E-Tech and at customer sites.  These are full-time, direct hire positions that E-Technologies Group is looking to fill immediately.

Responsibilities:

·         Design, program, simulate and test automated processes and machinery.

·         Create detailed documentation or manuals for fully functional projects.

·         Support new development projects, gather customer requirements, and perform analytical programming. 

·         Responsible for integrating control systems and platforms.

·         Design process improvement projects.

·         Participate in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling.

Desired Skills and Experience:

·         BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent education and experience.

·         Understanding of controls and automation engineering principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their application.

·         Understanding of and ability to program PLCs (specifically Rockwell) and HMIs (Wonderware)

·         Work creatively while working under minimal supervision.

·         Ability to provide technical direction, coordinate work, and maintain effective communication with team members, project management, and client representatives, as extensive internal/external client interaction is an everyday part of the position.

Job Description: 

E-Tech Services is looking for experienced Validation Engineers to qualify and validate manufacturing computer systems for process systems for pharmaceutical plant production (including large scale process automation systems for utilities, batch processing, filling and packaging). Primary tasks include development of protocols, coordination of validation activities, qualification/validation execution, preparing final reports and assembly of final validation packages while adhering to FDA validation requirements for automated computer systems.  Contract and direct hire opportunities are available.  E-Tech Services is looking to fill this position immediately. 

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the development, approval, execution and final reports of validation protocols. Need to be able to coordinate and work with those departments that are executing and/or assisting in execution of protocols.

• Preparation of final reports and validation packages including documentation of deviations, investigations and corrective actions related to validation protocols and testing.

• Experience drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for automation systems.  (Backup/Restore, Security, etc.)

• Assist validation contractors and outside vendors as needed to meet project timelines, corporate goals and milestones.

• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Lighter experience will be considered as E-Tech Services is looking for a Lead Validation Engineer as well as Project Executors. 

·        BA in Engineering, Computer Science, or Life Sciences preferred.

·        5-10 years experience directly in the validation field of manufacturing computer systems.

·        1-2 years of experience with ControlLogix Programming OR 3-5 years of CSV experience.

·        2-3 years of experience in Batch Systems, and performing startups preferred.

·        Understanding and practice of cGMPs. 

·        IQ/OQ experience.

·        Software proficiency - basic word processing, spread sheet applications, and statistical programs.

·        Experience writing and executing commissioning documents.

·        Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11.

·        Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·        Detail oriented and the ability to manage multiple CSV projects with a high degree of self motivation.

• Effective communication skills – oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

The MES Engineer is a key member of the Professional Services team. In this role, the MES Engineer will assist in requirements gathering, technical proposals, design and development of complex MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) projects.

The MES Engineer will act as the technical lead, as well as an individual contributor on these engagements, contributing to software architecture design, development of software applications, and integration into enterprise systems.

Essential Responsibilities

·         Perform high level technical analysis activities, such as requirements gathering and gap analysis of user requirements.

·         Define MES solution architectures and develop detailed design specifications.

·         Define functional requirements through client interviews, documentation analysis, and Work Flow Process Mapping (Value Stream Maps).

·         Contribute to, and potentially lead, implementation of MES solutions utilizing Wonderware MES, Wonderware Workflow, FT Metrics, Proficy PlantApps.

·         Provide expert knowledge and experience to estimate the technical effort required to implement complex MES solutions.

·         Responsible for technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of MES solution development projects.

·         Actively participate on a technical project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained.

·         Proactively engage with customers in order to define the overall technical approach for MES solutions.

·         Effectively apply E-Tech execution methodology and embrace project standards.

·         Proactively report on project progress against schedule.

·         Manage and report on adjustments to scope, schedule, and issues.

·         Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions.

·         Assist existing customers in problem resolution and help define future opportunities with those customers.

·         Provide Sure Service support to clients under contract.

Qualifications/Requirements

·         Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science or minimum 5 years industry experience in software development programming, or engineering discipline.

·         Minimum 4 years experience in industrial software services functions.

·         Minimum 4 years experience designing or implementing MES applications (Manufacturing Execution Systems).

·         Experience with one or more of the following systems a plus – Werum, Syncade, Invensys, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, POMSnet, Camstar, Elan designing or implementing MES applications.

·         Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.

·         Experience with .NET technologies like WPF, WCF, WF, or Silver light.

·         Experience with SQL programming and databases.

·         Experience in multi-threaded applications development.

·         Experience in IT environment or organization.
